Aggies pick up a JUCO Offensive Lineman on Thanksgiving

Need a break from the family? Kevin Sumlin just gave us all a reason to excuse ourselves for an hour or so to dig through Aggie message boards.

Today we give thanks for stud offensive linemen. Namely East Mississippi Community College's Avery Gennesy who ended the recruiting process today in favor of Texas A&M. The 6'5" 305-pound tackle is a consensus four-star and ranked by the 247Sports Composite as the #9 JUCO player in the country. Gennesy was previously thought to be favoring Texas A&M, but after two visits to Oxford, Mississippi in as many months, Ole Miss had emerged as the recent favorite. Texas A&M was the choice over roughly 15 offers including Ohio State, Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma etc...

Gennesy joins Jermaine Eluemanor, Zach Ledwik, Koda Martin, and Kealvin Davis in a very impressive offensive line haul for 2014. In my opinion, the addition of Gennesy is insurance against either Cedric Ogbuehi or Jarvis Harrison leaving early for the NFL draft. In fact, I'd wager it means the coaching staff is fairly confident that at least one is gone.
