Tavares Garner is Latest Member of 2013 Recruiting Class to Leave Texas A&M

The A&M defensive back is headed to Henderson State

Thomas Campbell-USA TODAY Sports

As first reported by AggieYell's Mark Passwaters, defensive back Tavares Garner has transferred to Henderson State in Arkansas.

Garner, a 3 star prospect out of Manvel, played in spot duty throughout his time at A&M. With the rise of former RB Brandon Williams as a probable contributor/possible starter, it seems that attrition at the position was bound to happen. Garner saw action in seven games as a freshman in 2013, and four as a sophomore in 2014. He was also a contributor on special teams.

Garner's transfer represents another loss for the much-maligned recruiting class of 2013. JaQuay Williams, Sebastian LaRue, Kenny Hill, Ishmael Wilson, Jordan Mastrogiovanni, Kyrion Parker, Laquvionte Gonzalez, and Kameron Miles have all transferred. Isiah Golden and Darian Claiborne have left due to disciplinary issues, and Jay Arnold has retired due to shoulder injury.

Henderson State is located in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and plays in the Great American Conference in Division II.
