Mike Matthews, a 2nd year starter, was named to the Rimington Trophy Watchlist. The Rimington is awarded to the best collegiate center in the country.
Matthews is Junior business major, and was a key part of the 2013 offensive line that led the way for the Texas A&M offense to be ranked in the top 10 of several statistical categories.
Mike Matthews is the younger brother of Jake Matthews, who was a finalist for the 2013 Outland trophy, given to the best college interior lineman.
The Rimington trophy will be handed out on January 17, 2015.
