Aggies move up in latest ESPN Bracketology

Texas A&M listed as an 11-seed in the latest NCAA Tournament projections.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

Texas A&M continues to rise in the ESPN Bracketology, expert Joe Lunardi's  prediction of teams that would make the NCAA Basketball Tournament if the season ended today. Lunardi now lists Texas A&M as an 11-seed in the East Region, facing Indiana in the first round. The Aggies have steadily risen in these rankings during their six-game Southeastern Conference winning streak, going from being left out completely, to the "first four out" category and a play-in game for the 12-seed in last week's edition. A&M is also receiving votes in the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Top 25 polls following their 69-58 win over Vanderbilt on Jan. 31.

The Aggies' current six-game conference win streak is the longest since the 2005-2006 team reeled off seven consecutive wins to close the regular season and go to their first NCAA Tournament under coach Billy Gillispie.

A&M goes on the road this week, facing Ole Miss at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, on SEC Network, and Missouri at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, on ESPNU.
