Aggies Flip Safety Donovan Wilson From Utah

Texas A&M got a boost at a need position on Saturday night.

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

As first reported by Brian Perroni (@Perroni247), Shreveport, LA safety prospect Donovan Wilson committed to the Aggies tonight.

Wilson surprised many when he committed to the Utah Utes last week; three days after an Official Visit to College Station. However, after an in-home visit this week from Kevin Sumlin, the Ags were able to surpass the Utes in the pole position. The 6'0" 180-pounder is a three-star prospect and led the state of Louisiana in interceptions as a senior with thirteen. With the late defection of Dylan Sumner-Gardner to Boise State, the safety position has become a top priority to fill out the 2014 class. Donovan helps fill that void and the Aggies are still in the market for safeties and are finalists for Steven Parker and Mattrell McGraw. Texas A&M beat out Utah, TCU and a handful of Louisiana schools to land Wilson's commitment.
