Run, Deon! Run! Aggie sprinter Deon Lendore has been selected as a finalist for the 2014 The Bowerman Trophy, the highest individual award in collegiate track and field. There will be an online fan vote from July 28th through August 12th for an entry in the final voting process. When that becomes available, we will direct you to their site and you do what Aggies do better than anyone else: win online voting contests. If Deon wins the award this December, Texas A&M will be the first university to have won both the Men's and Women's trophy, won in 2011 by Jessica Beard. Makes you remember that Aggie track has EIGHT NCAA National Championships between the two teams since 2009. So, make sure you commit yourself to going to watch these ladies and gentlemen in action for their next season.
Athletic and Smart. 820 SEC athletes were named in the 2013-2014 First-Year Academic Honor Roll. Of the 820, 41 were from Texas A&M athletic programs such as football, baseball, soccer, swimming and diving, golf, track and field, and volleyball. Names included are Kenny Hill, Daeshon Hall, Ryne Birk, and Tyler Stubblefield. See the complete list here.
SEC Media Days start tomorrow! Texas A&M is up for the afternoon slot on Tuesday, but there's a whole week of SEC football related talk that you can watch on the SEC website, ESPN, ESPNU and WatchESPN. You should definitely monitor Hypno-Toad and DerekAggie06 as they report back to Good Bull Hunting directly from Alabama. Follow these guys on twitter for instant updates.
