We have heard at great length that LSU fans feel slighted by the decision to allow the LSU @ Texas A&M game to be scheduled on Thanksgiving day this year despite their... tradition... that they play night games on Saturday.
The intrepid Good Bull Hunting SEC Media Days crew hit the ballroom to get the answer straight from the Tigers themselves. What do the LSU players think?
La' El Collins - OT
First of all I'm gonna tell you that Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I'm sure I'll be wishing I was eating a piece of turkey, but I'm sure I'll get a piece with my teammates. But A&M's a great team. Last time we were there we had to come from behind to win, and that's a tough place to play.
Terrence Magee - RB
You know, I'm going to miss going home to get a piece of my mom's or grandma's turkey, but I would much rather be playing football on that day. I think it's going to be a great matchup for us and I'm excited to play Texas A&M on Thanksgiving.
D.J. Welter - LB
I like it being scheduled on Thanksgiving so I have the rest of the weekend with my family - get the work done early and then have the rest of the time with my family. You know it gives the game a little bit more hype, it'll be a little bit more fun and a good experience to play on Thanksgiving day. I can’t remember ever playing on Thanksgiving and being able to play A&M on that day, who's a great team in the SEC, I'm looking forward to it.
It certainly seems like the LSU players are excited about having their talents showcased in a unique national stage. Let us know what you think in the comments.
