According to Jon Rothstein, the number one tweeter of "This is March" (and college hoops writer for CBS Sports), Texas A&M and University of Southern California have scheduled a home and home hardcourt series to begin next season. Game one of the series will be in College Station, and the Aggies will travel to USC in 2017-2018.

The SEC has been on its schools to schedule tougher out of conference games in an effort to bolster the national perception of SEC basketball. Playing USC in the next two seasons definitely checks that box for the Aggies. The Trojans finished in the middle of the PAC12 this season with a 9-9 conference record, and lost to Providence in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. They are a big-name program playing in a conference that is always strangely boasted as one of the top college hoops conferences, so it will certainly add to the resume of the Aggies if they can take care of business against the Trojans in the next two seasons.
No dates have been set for the games yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see these games wind up in either the first week of the regular season, or falling to the Christmas break week to try and get some folks to travel to Reed Arena when seats are typically readily available.
