Podcast: Previewing the SEC and the Aggies with CFBMatrix

It's finally that time. The Around Aggieland show is back on the air to break down all things Aggies and the SEC. We're of course happy to announce that we're apart of Aggie Sports Radio from VSporto. They'll be bringing Aggie fans 24 hours a day, 7 days a week Aggie sports talk on their website and on their phone app.  We're excited about the new segments we'll have on the show this season, and we'll explain those in more detail further down (we explain them in this episode). To kick off the season, Dave Bartoo from CFBMatrix.com joined us to talk about the CFBMatrix College Football Preview digital magazine, his thoughts on the SEC and the College Football Playoff, and of course the Aggies heading into the 2014 season. Spoiler alert: Dave has the Coach Sumlin ranked with the highest positive coach effect over the last two seasons. The preview magazines are amazing, so click on this sentence somewhere and go check them out.

The podcast will return to its twice a week format featuring weekly breakdowns and recaps. Recap episodes will be Sunday night/Monday morning, and Preview episodes will be Wednesday night/Thursday morning. So what are the new segments this season? Here's what we've got so far:

• Wildcard Wes - @Thacktor will join us for each Preview episode for a Wildcard segment. To say this segment can get weird would be a pretty large understatement.
• Degenerate Gambling - Doug will also be on each Preview episode giving us the lines for games around the SEC, a random game, and maybe even a SUPER SOLID ROCK HARD COLD STEEL LOCK OF THE WEEK. Versus picking games straight up like the past two seasons, we'll be picking games against the spread this season.
• SEC Recap - Cool Hand Lucas will jump on the Recap episodes to break down the week that was in the SEC and give us highlights from the games, wild stories, and maybe we'll see the return of Jackass of the Week during this segment.
• Perhaps the best news of all is that the #BestBuds Voicemail Line is opening back up! In a slight twist, this season we'll be asking callers to call the voicemail line and ask us questions (remember that it's a family show we're running here). We'll play the voicemails in the weekly recap show and give our responses. Look for the line to open up for the first time this season in the next couple of days.
• We've got more segments planned and in the works with guys like Dr. Camacho, JZ, and our basketball crew, so stay tuned for more.
• You'll be able to listen to the podcasts a few ways once the Aggie Sports Radio app is released: Via the livestream which will be available on the website, via TuneIn Radio, via the links which we will tweet out and embed here on GBH, or via the app on iOS.
