Elijah Thomas Commits to Texas A&M

We run this state in basketball recruiting.

The national Top-30 big man announced his pledge to Billy Kennedy and Texas A&M Basketball today over LSU, Oklahoma State, Illinois, and SMU. The 6’9" Power Forward is an instant-impact type of player for the Aggies. Thomas is the fourth commitment for the Aggies in the 2015 class, and the fourth win for the Aggie staff over traditional power programs in college basketball. The Aggies now have 4 of the top 6 players in the state of Texas committed.

Thomas is an absolute monster for defenders to deal with in the paint. While his size and strength are absolutely high points for him, his greatest yet likely most overlooked strength is his ability to play on either side of the paint. That skill opens up the offensive scheme in a big way for coaches, and is something that has plagued the Aggies for more than a few years now. His size and strength make him tough to cover with a man defense, and being able to play on either side of the paint makes him a true threat in the paint if teams show a zone against the Aggies. For you basketball fans that think the three point line ruined the game, you’ll love the way Thomas plays. He’s your prototype back-to-the-basket big man that will blow by defenders with his spin moves and shoulder fakes.
