According to The Eagle in Bryan-College Station, Stansbury was arrested on a misdemeanor assault warrant in April:
Gavin Stansbury, a 21-year-old senior defensive lineman, was accused of pouring a beer on a man and punching him in the face while visiting Rice University in March, according to Harris County court documents.
The man reportedly received eight stitches to close the wound while another woman was grazed by Stansbury’s fist, authorities said.
The reasons for Stansbury leaving the team have not been specified.
This news follows this weekend's announcement that DB Victor Davis was arrested for allegedly shoplifting. Previously this offseason, defensive starters Darian Claiborne and Isaiah Golden were dismissed from the team for disciplinary problems.
