Daily Bull 3.8.16: EPIC PUNTER BATTLES

“There is no such uncertainty as a sure thing.”

Howdy. Let's get fresh. The media got to speak with Christian Kirk yesterday and were super impressed that a football player gave a good interview. This no-freshman-speaking rule has done wonders for expectations so it's probably just a matter of time before Sumlin just puts a gag order on the whole team for an entire November. Kirk and Speedy are gearing up to give a solid 1-2 punch in the return game again. That's good. That's real good. Because the rest of special teams is a bit of a question mark.

And the legends quietly walked among us. Lost in the hoopla surrounding the Texas A&M Basketball team's SEC Championship* is the fact that they have a shot at winning the most games of any team in school history (the 2006/7 team holds the record with 27; the current team sits at 24). Yes, that includes the rough-and-tumble SWC days when steers would amble onto the hardwood in Lubbock as well as the brief period of fiery zen achieved in the apex of the Gillispie/Turgeon eras. To say nothing of the Barone and Watkins regimes when double-digit wins was the high water mark. This is a very good team. Stay tuned for more on the SEC Tourney later in the week.

Adorable Mascot Punched by Drunk Florida Man, 74. This headline has it all: mascot fighting, drunkenness, and perhaps most importantly: Florida Man. It is not a real headline yet as far as we know, but we did no real research. It could very well be in the near future, though. The University of Florida has decided to sell alcohol at football games but only to the wealthy patrons because, of course, they are the most responsible and least likely to engage in rowdy behavior. As Spencer points out, this premise ignores the entire history of Florida's people, to say nothing of that small subset that is fanatic about college football. GO GATA.

And also. Thoughts and prayers go out to the Sumlin family. Kevin's father William passed away on Sunday. He was 81.
