Is this real? Basketball in late July? Yes, it has wandered into our collective awareness thanks to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports. The notorious repeat tweeter tweeted out his early early SEC Basketball Power Poll and #2 was something of a surprise.

Is Jon mainlining the maroon Kool-Aid powder already this season? Is the influx of new talent from the best recruiting class in school history leading to inflated expectations despite all the departures? Or are we actually going to be a pretty good basketball team in 2015-2016? I guess there's only one way to find out: let football season distract us for several months until it's time to pay attention.
