Cedric Ogbuehi Selected in First Round of NFL Draft

This marks the fifth year in a row that Texas A&M has had a player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bengals have selected Texas A&M senior offensive lineman Cedric Ogbuehi with the 21st pick of the first round. Cedric joins Von Miller (2011), Ryan Tannehill (2012), Luke Joeckel (2013), and Jake Matthews/Mike Evans/Johnny Manziel (2014) to keep the Aggies' streak of first-round players alive.

Ogbuehi's draft stock fell late in the year following a torn ACL suffered in the Liberty Bowl, but he has shown versatility throughout his career, moving from the interior of the line to right tackle in 2013, then to the coveted left tackle position as a senior in 2014. He was voted a first-team All American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation as well as first-team All-SEC by league head coaches this past season.

Cedric will join a team that is looking to beef up the protection for Andy Dalton's offense. You can read more on the Bengals' SB Nation site Cincy Jungle. Congrats, Ced!
