Three Aggies make NFL Pro Bowl

Texas A&M greats doing great things

NFL: Los Angeles Rams at Baltimore Ravens Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

Earlier the week the NFL Pro Bowl teams were announced, and three Texas A&M Aggies made the list, all three of which were no-brainer selections.

WR Mike Evans (TB)

NFL: Jacksonville Jaguars at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jeremy Reper-USA TODAY Sports

At age 30, Evans has had arguably the best year of his NFL career, catching 76 passes for 1,233 yards and 13 touchdowns (still with one game to play). None of those are career highs, but it’s only the second time in Evans’ career that he has had 75+ catches, 1200+ yards and 10+ TDs in a season (the other time coming in 2016).

Evans leads the NFL in touchdown catches this season, and will make his 5th Pro Bowl appearance.

DL Justin Madubuike (BAL)

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports

Evans may have had arguably his best season, but there’s no arguing that this isn’t a career year for Madubuike. After averaging fewer than three sacks, six tackles for loss and 33 tackles over his first three seasons, Justin has exploded in 2023 for 13 sacks, 12 tackles for loss and 54 total tackles.

Madubuike is currently tied for No. 8 in the NFL in sacks with Dallas’ Micah Parsons, and makes his first career Pro Bowl appearance.

DE Myles Garrett (CLE)

NFL: Chicago Bears at Cleveland Browns Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Of course Myles is on this list. Since joining the league in 2017, Garrett has 88.5 sacks, which is second only to T.J. Watt’s 94.5. In 2023, Garrett is 6th in the league with 14 sacks, tied for 5th in tackles for loss with 17 and 2nd in forced fumbles with four.

This will be Garrett’s 5th Pro Bowl appearance in seven seasons.

Be sure to root on these guys during the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 4.
