Mike Elko appears to be on a transfer portal heater, with two portal commits on Thursday (and two more on the way, according to his tweets), and a slew of other portal visitors reportedly coming to campus this weekend. After adding top portal edge rusher Nic Scourton Thursday morning, Texas A&M closed out the day by flipping former San Diego State DB Marcus Ratcliffe from UCLA, where he had originally committed in December.

Ratcliffe was a three-star recruit in the 2023 class, but played in all 12 games for the Aztecs as a true freshman, totaling 51 tackles along with an interception and a pass breakup. He is rated as the No. 97 player in the transfer portal and the No. 5 safety. At 6’3” and 210 pounds, he has the size to play either safety or the nickel corner role for the Aggies. He has three years of eligibility remaining.

A&M now has 11 total transfer portal commits, four of which are in the secondary. That class is currently ranked No. 5 in the country by 247 Sports, and has the potential to move into the top 3 soon.
