Texas A&M seemed be in the market for another tight end, even after getting a commitment from Purdue’s Garrett Miller last month. They finally got their guy on Saturday as Fresno State transfer (and former Washington commit) TE Tre Watson committed to the Aggies.
The 6’5”, 245-pound Watson committed to the Huskies last month, but decommitted following the departure of head coach Kalen DeBoer to Alabama. He was at Fresno State at the same time as now A&M QB Jaylen Henderson, so you have to think that familiarity played a role in the Ags getting his commitment.
In 2023, he caught 38 passes for 378 yard and four touchdowns, and comes to College Station with one year of eligibility remaining. His commitment gives A&M 20 transfer commits in the 2024 cycle, a class which is currently ranked No. 2 in the country.
