We knew going into the offseason that Texas A&M needed to bolster its secondary headed into 2024, and Mike Elko and his staff have continued to do just that. The secondary haul continued on Friday with the commitment of former Vanderbilt safety De’Rickey Wright.

Wright was originally a four-star recruit in the 2020 class, and over the past two seasons, appeared in 22 games and totaled 101 tackles, 10 pass breakups, five interceptions and two forced fumbles. He comes to College Station with two years to play one. and at 6’4”, 217 pounds, he should definitely bring some physicality to the Aggie secondary.

In addition to Wright, Texas A&M has also shored up their secondary depth with the additions S Trey Jones and CB Will Lee via the portal this month.
