The portal giveth and the portal taketh away. And every once in a while, it does both of those things with the same player. One such occurrence happened for Texas A&M, as freshman OL Chase Bisontis, who entered his name into the transfer portal earlier this month, has reportedly removed it.
Some good news for Texas A&M:— Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) December 19, 2023
A&M standout freshman offensive lineman Chase Bisontis, who entered the transfer portal Dec. 6, has withdrawn his name from the portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @247Sports https://t.co/RFR3u39Sly pic.twitter.com/0bqtEhFtqb
Bisontis was a member of A&M’s 2023 recruiting class, committing to the Aggies as a four-star offensive linemen among the top 100 recruits in the country. After turning heads in spring football, he became one of the Ags’ starting tackles due to an injury to incumbent starter Reuben Fatheree, and was named to the SEC All-Freshman team and was an On3 Freshman All-American.
Bisontis’ return gives the Aggies a bevy of options (for now) as new OL Coach Adam Cushing looks to form their 2024 offensive line, losing only senior Layden Robinson from their 2023 starting lineup.
