In a saddening but not surprising move, Texas A&M WR Evan Stewart has reportedly entered the transfer portal.

Stewart committed to Texas A&M just over two years ago, rated as the top wide receiver in the 2022 recruiting class. In his two seasons in Aggieland, he appeared in 18 games, catching 91 passes for 1,163 yards and six touchdowns. While he showed flashes of the athletic ability that let to his lofty recruiting ranking, he leaves College Station with what was ultimately a very disappointing tenure, thanks in no small part to Jimbo Fisher’s ineffective offense and porous offensive line play.
There will likely be no small shortage of potential suitors for Stewart’s services, as he is ranked as the best receiver and the No. 2 overall player in the transfer portal, according to 247 Sports. He is the 15th A&M player to enter the portal since Jimbo Fisher was fired in November.
