Texas A&M continues to bolster their secondary via the transfer portal, securing a commitment on Monday from Central Michigan transfer safety Trey Jones.
Jones chose the Aggies over scholarship offers from LSU, Florida and Tennessee, among several others. Over the past two seasons, Jones amassed 141 tackles, five passes breakups and three interceptions. He has one year of eligibility remaining
He joins Kansas State CB Will Lee as the second transfer portal addition to the Aggie secondary. While the starting safety positions seem like they’re locked up with some combination of Bryce Anderson, Jacoby Matthews, Jared Kerr and Dalton Brooks, Jones will bring proven depth to that room.
