With All-American LB Edgerrin Cooper headed for the NFL Draft and Chris Russell exhausting his eligibility, Texas A&M is in need of adding some depth to the position. They began to address that on Saturday with the commitment of Youngstown State transfer LB Alex Howard.

The 6’2”, 230-lb Howard tallied 76 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and an interception in 2023. He was also offered by Colorado, UCF, Syracuse (shocker), Kansas, South Carolina, Pitt, West Virginia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Michigan State and Liberty.

He’ll compete for the starting spot alongside Taurean York with several other players, including Jurriente Davis, Martrell Harris and Daymion Sanford.
