Aggies open as double-digit dogs against LSU

Texas A&M will not be favored on the road in Baton Rouge to close out the regular season

The first game of the post-Jimbo era saw the return of maroon pants and sleeves as the Aggies beat Abilene Christian 38-10. Though the Aggies did start out behind after an early pick-six, it felt like Texas A&M controlled the game from start to finish against FCS competition. Given the firing of their coach earlier in the week, the early struggles likely didn’t come as a surprise.

Next up for Texas A&M is a road trip to Baton Rouge to take on the LSU Tigers in the final game of the 2023 regular season. LSU will be a 10.5-point favorite* per our friends at DraftKings Sportsbook as they hope to avenge their 2022 loss to the Aggies. The ‘Tigers' passing attack has vaulted Jayden Daniels into Heisman contention and likely factors in as the biggest reason why LSU finds themselves favored.

Interim Head Coach Elijah Robinson has his work cut out for him on the road in a hostile environment but the good news for the Aggies is Death Valley is slightly less hostile when the game takes place at 11:00 a.m. Should Texas A&M pull off the upset for the second straight season, it would make for a nice silver lining in what has been a disappointing year and would snap the road losing streak going back to 2021.
