If you’re like me, you’ve spent the past nine years waiting for EA Sports to release a new version of NCAA Football playing NCAA14 on repeat to the point that Kevin Sumlin is far and away the most decorated coach in college football history but is also like 87 years old and should probably retire already.

Luckily, it looks like those days (both the waiting and replaying of NCAA14) will soon be at an end. According to Matt Brown, publisher of Matt Brown’s Extra Points with Matt Brown, EA Sports has earmarked July 2023 as a release date for the glorious return of this once great video game franchise.

The bad news is this is still a full year away, and perhaps even moreso, previous reports have indicated that the game will not be backwards-compatible (meaning you’ll need a PS5 or Xbox Series X to play it). But it’s still a fantastic to hear that one of the most beloved games of my youth (and I assume many of yours as well), is coming back!

Be sure to read Matt’s article for the official release details as well as a lot of other info regarding the progress of the game development.
