Texas A&M is headed back to Omaha for the College World Series for the first time since 2017, and if they want to advance further, they’ll have to defeat some very familiar foes in Oklahoma and Texas, as well as Notre Dame. The Longhorns are the only team on this side of the bracket that A&M has faced in 2022, defeating Texas 12-9 in Austin on March 29.
The Aggies begin CWS play versus the Oklahoma Sooners at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 17, airing on ESPN. Win, and the Aggies would move on and play the winner of Texas/Notre Dame at 7 p.m. on Sunday. Lose, and they’ll be in an elimination game against the Texas/Notre Dame loser at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

If the Aggies do manage to advance out of their side of the bracket into the championship series, they’re likely to face a familiar team again, with three of the four teams being SEC squads (Arkansas, Auburn and Ole Miss). The Ags went 5-4 versus those teams in the regular season, winning weekend series with Arkansas and Ole Miss, but dropping the series to Auburn (only their second conference series of the season back in March).
