As expected, Texas A&M was selected as one of the 16 hosts for an NCAA Baseball Tournament regional next weekend at Blue Bell Park at Olsen Field in College Station.
The Aggies will find out which three other teams are joining them in the College Station during the selection show, which begins at 11 a.m. on Monday. But perhaps just as important as who will join A&M this coming weekend is what seed they’re given by the selection committee. A top eight “national seed” means that if the Ags can advance out of the College Station Regional, they would also host a Super Regional with a College World Series berth on the line. At 37-18 (19-11 in SEC play) and ranked in the top five of most major baseball polls, A&M has positioned themselves well for that national seed, especially after advancing to the semifinals of the SEC Tournament.
