Texas A&M is hosting a huge recruiting event on campus today, the last day before a new dead period starts, and it has paid dividends with the commitment of 2023 Smithson Valley OT Colton Thomasson. And with any luck, he may not be the only commit of the weekend.
Rankings/stars are not available for Thomasson (not uncommon given that he still has two years of high school ball left to play, and scouting is way behind after COVID canceled or shortened many 2020 seasons), but the 6’7’, 320-pound tackle holds scholarship offers from A&M as well as our longtime SEC rivals Oklahoma and Texas (as well as several other schools).
Thomasson is the third commit in the Aggies’ 2023 class, joining DL Anthony James and QB Eli Holstein, which is already ranked among the top five classes in the country. It’s very early, but this has the makings of another elite recruiting class for Jimbo Fisher and his staff.
