Defensive line is the unquestioned strength of the Texas A&M football team, with established players like Demarvin Leal, Michael Clemons, Jayden Peevy and McKinley Jackson leading a deep group of dudes. That group just got even stronger on Monday as the Aggies got the 12th commit of the 2022 recruiting class with three-star Argyle DL Jadon Scarlett.

Scarlett is 6’2.5”, 265 pounds, and is currently the No. 56 defensive lineman in the country, the No. 402 recruit nationally and the No. 56 player in the state of Texas. Fellow SEC powers Oklahoma and Missouri were the Aggies’ primary competition for Scarlett, but he also held offers from dozens of other schools, including LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Penn State and Texas.
This commitment moves A&M’s 2022 recruiting class to the No. 11 spot nationally, though that rankings rises to No. 8 if adjusted for the number of recruits currently in the class.
