In a stunning twist, A&M transfer Jordan Hall announced his return to St. Joseph’s last night.
NEWS: Jordan Hall is withdrawing from the 2021 NBA Draft and will now return to St. Joe's next season instead of transferring to Texas A&M, according to a source.https://t.co/zvLzomFeb1

Hall initially announced his transfer on May 4th and entered his name for NBA Draft consideration soon after. He averaged 10.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 5.7 assists during an All-Rookie A10 campaign for St. Joesph’s and was seen as a crucial incoming member of Buzz Williams’ third campaign in charge of Texas A&M Men’s Basketball.
This (obviously) stings on multiple levels, but perhaps chief among them is this: St Joseph’s isn’t good. They’ve had success in the past and they have name recognition among non-P5 hoops programs, but their last two seasons absolutely stunk.
I won’t pretend to know why this happened, but the fact pattern is bleak: We were just abandoned for a program that’s gone 11-41 over the last two seasons; a program in a smaller conference that will almost surely provide less visibility for an admitted NBA hopeful.
It ain’t great.
