3-star LB Martrell Harris commits to Texas A&M

Becomes first linebacker of the 2022 class

Texas A&M has hosted some big time visits on campus in recent weeks, be it with official and unofficial visits as well as football camps. Today, all of that activity yielded it’s first tangible results with a verbal commit from three-star Woodlands linebacker Martrell Harris.

Harris might be “only” a three-star recruit, but his offer list speaks for itself, including schools like Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas, among many others. He is currently listed as the No. 39 linebacker in the country, the No. 374 player overall and the No. 51 player in Texas, however there is limited film on Harris since he played JV as a sophomore (due to transfer rules) and saw his junior season end early because of injury. If he has a strong senior season he could see himself rise in the recruiting rankings and reveal what it is the Aggies and many other top schools see in him.

Linebacker is also an important position for A&M in the 2022 class since they did not sign anyone at the position in 2021, so expect several others to join Harris in this year’s class. He is currently the Aggies’ eight verbal commit in the 2022 recruiting class, which is currently ranked No. 8 nationally.
