Spring football concluded with the Maroon & White game over the weekend, and since then we have seen several A&M players enter the transfer portal (as is common for this time of year). Monday was a surprise entrant in early enrollee Shadrach Banks, and today brought a bit more expected duo in receiver Camron Buckley and safety Derrick Tucker.

Neither of these players played in 2020 (Buckley due to injury, Tucker opting out), and it seemed likely that neither was in line for a starting role in 2021. Buckley may have been a part of the receiver rotation, and his leadership would have been valuable, but as a senior, he likely wants to get more playing time in his final year of college eligibility. You can’t fault him for that.
With the Aggies seeing several assumed departures, it will be interesting to see if they add any players in the transfer market in the coming months, or it depth is supplied by players already on the roster (I admittedly don’t know what their scholarship numbers look like at the moment).
Good luck to both of these players as they take the next step in their collegiate careers.
