We are just one day past National Signing Day for the 2021 class, but the Texas A&M staff is already making major waves with the 2022 class, none bigger than the commitment of four-star Cypress QB Conner Weigman, who plans to play both football and baseball for the Aggies.

Weigman is currently ranked as the No. 93 player in the country, the No. 5 dual-threat QB and the No. 16 player in Texas. He is also the second-best QB in Texas, behind only Ohio State commit Quinn Ewers. To put this commitment in perspective, Weigman’s .9609 rating on 247 Sports would make him the highest-rated QB to sign with Texas A&M since Kyler Murray in 2015. So yeah, it’s pretty major.
Weigman had offers from a litany of programs, but A&M’s main competition was Arkansas, Baylor, Florida, Oklahoma and Texas. But momentum seemed to swing A&M’s way as soon as they extended a scholarship offer on Jan. 21.
The Aggies now have four commits in the 2022 recruiting class, all four stars, which is currently good for 8th nationally.
