No matter the outcome of the Auburn game, you can’t say today wasn’t a good day for the future of Texas A&M football. The Aggies got a MASSIVE recruiting boost on Saturday, securing a verbal commitment from five-star defensive lineman Walter Nolen.
Honored and blessed to say that I will be committing to Texas A&M #GigEm @Hayesfawcett3 pic.twitter.com/eTwL7FszGv— Walter Nolen9️⃣ (@WalterNolen4) November 6, 2021
Nolen is from Powell, TN, and is the No. 1 defensive lineman, the No. 1 player in Tennessee and the No. 2 recruit in the country. His offer list is a who’s who of elite programs, but it seems the primary competition for his services were Alabama and Tennessee.
He is the
15th 16th* commitment in the Aggies’ 2022 recruiting class, which has now moved back into the top 10 nationally ( No. 8, between Oklahoma and Oregon No. 6*, between Notre Dame and Texas). He is also the Ags’ second five-star recruit, joining QB Conner Weigman.
*Updated following the commitment of Chris Marshall
