At long last, the SEC announced today when and were we can watch Texas A&M battle the Auburn Tigers next Saturday, and as expected, the game was picked up by CBS as their SEC Game of the Week, which will start at 2:30 p.m. This was always the likely outcome, but was made certain last night when Auburn upset No. 10 Ole Miss.

In addition, SEC Network’s “SEC Nation” morning show will also come to College Station and broadcast from the A&M campus.

While it’s hard to complain about getting top-billing in the SEC and a national network audience, most Aggies were likely hoping for a night time kickoff to amp up the atmosphere at Kyle Field. But with the forecast calling for highs in the mid-60s, even an afternoon kickoff should be plenty raucous. Both teams are ranked in the top 15, and both are still contenders in the SEC West, with Auburn still controlling their own destiny. For A&M, they need only to win out and have Alabama lose one more game (most likely to Auburn in Week 13) to reach their first SEC Championship Game since joining the conference in 2012.
