To the surprise of absolutely nobody, a 41-38 upset of the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide saw Texas A&M vault back into the national rankings in a big way. The Aggies now sit at No. 21 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 18 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. The Tide, meanwhile, fell to No. 5 in both polls.
The Aggies will look to build on this momentum in the coming weeks as they travel to Columbia to take on Missouri at 11 a.m. next Saturday, followed by a game against bitter longtime rival South Carolina at Kyle Field. If they can win those two games, they’ll head into the bye week at 6-2. Given everything this team has gone through, from injuries to sloppy play, being bowl eligible and having a 10-win regular season still on the table would be a great way to enter the bye, heal up, and gear up for the stretch run against Auburn, Prairie View, at Ole Miss and at LSU.
Gig ‘em.
