Aggies add pair of four-star recruits to 2021 class

A lovely pre-bowl present

Most Texas A&M fans are laser-focused on the present: tonight’s Capital One Orange Bowl matchup with North Carolina. But the Aggies’ future also got a bit brighter today as they added two more pieces to their 2021 recruiting class: four-star safety Jardin Gilbert (Baton Rouge, LA), and four-star defensive end Elijah Jeudy (Philadelphia, PA).

Both Gilbert and Jeudy are among the top 300 recruits in the country as well as the top 10 recruits in their respective states. But what is truly impressive is A&M just snagged a Pennsylvania recruit who had an offer from Penn State and a Baton Rouge recruit who had an offer from LSU. That speaks volumes.

Gilbert joins Kendal Daniels as the only two safeties in the Aggies’ class, while Jeudy joins an absolutely loaded DE class that includes Shemar Turner, Tunmise Adeyele, Marcus Burris and Jahzion Harris.

The Aggies now have 22 commits in the 2021 recruiting class, nine of which come from outside the Lone Star State. Jeudy is also a high school teammate of another A&M recruit, CB Tyreek Chappell. The class is currently ranked No. 7 in the country.
