First, some good news. We added some sorely needed frontcourt height with the addition of transfer Javonte Brown by way of Connecticut.
Now, we move to the task at hand... a double digit defeat at the hands of the Missouri Tigers
First Half
We started well enough, holding Missouri below their shooting averages early and hitting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc, ourselves. Special shouts in this regard to Andre Gordon, who may have had his single best offensive outing as an Aggie. We were even starting to look comfortable up 24-17 with four minutes remaining... which was of course followed by an immediate 10-0 run by Missouri to close the half. Not all traditions are fun.
Halftime Score: Missouri 27, Texas A&M 24
Second Half
These turnovers are out of control, y’all. We posted a turnover rate above 25% for the eighth time in 12 games, and our season-long turnover percentage (24.7%) is good for 337th out of 347 D1 hoops teams. We aren’t just sloppy, we’re sloppy at a truly impressive level.
You may note an absence of game flow notes... which is not an accident. The second half had no flow. Missouri used an 11-0 run to extend the lead to 18, and the lead never dipped back into single digits.
For the fourth time in six games, there was no reason to watch the last twenty minutes of an A&M hoops broadcast.
Final Score: Missouri 68, Texas A&M 52

Final Thoughts
We are effectively halfway through the season, and we have yet to lose a game without being run out of the gym in the second half. Our best, most competitive loss to date is a 14 point defeat to Tennessee, and that deficit never dropped below 10 in the second half.
I’m starting to fear the worst, gang. Maybe we aren’t still searching for our identity... maybe we’ve already found it.
Next up is a crucial trip to Nashville to face the winless Vanderbilt Commodores.
