Despite efforts made across the conference to conduct a normal 12-game football season, the SEC presidents and chancellors approved the move to a 10-game, conference-only schedule on Thursday. They join the Pac 12 and the Big Ten in moving to conference-only schedules for the 2020 season.
The @SEC announced Thursday a 10-game, conference-only schedule model beginning Sept. 26.#GigEm https://t.co/UwoueJUJwc

The move will delay the start of the season until Saturday, Sept. 26, a game against Arkansas that Texas A&M AD Ross Bjork says will take place at Kyle Field. Subsequently the SEC Championship Game has been moved from Dec. 5 to Dec. 19.
This will be a weird schedule, but 2020 is a weird year, so just embrace it. If anything, it will make the SEC feel more like an actual conference where the majority of cross-divisional teams actually have a common opponent for a change.
