Sports news! Actual sports news!
Top five grad transfer Kevin Marfo committed to Texas A&M yesterday, and he’s immediately eligible to play next season.
Texas A&M just landed a commitment from Quinnipiac grad transfer Kevin Marfo, the nation’s leading rebounder. Marfo averaged 10.2 points and 13.3 rebounds this past season.

The Quinnipiac big man led the country last year with 13.3 rebounds per game, recording 17 double-doubles in a second team All-MAAC campaign. And a quick dive into last year’s advanced analytics tell a pretty compelling story:
- 1st place nationally in Defensive Rebounding Rate (34.2%)
- 2nd place nationally in Offensive Rebounding Rate (18.5%)
- 2nd place nationally in Free Throw Rate (94.6%) — for reference, Josh Nebo was 3rd nationally last year
Texas A&M, Penn State, Minnesota, St. John’s and VCU were Marfo’s final five schools.
The personnel frustrations from last offseason are officially in the past. We landed the best available grad transfer in our biggest area of need, and we did it early. He’s a perfect fit for the Josh-Nebo-sized hole in our current roster.
Stay safe out there, everyone.
