With A&M’s game with Ole Miss now postponed (and effectively canceled), the Aggies only have one scheduled game remaining, against a struggling Tennessee squad on Dec. 19. If only there were some other contending team available this weekend who A&M could play in order to try and impress the committee...

Obviously a game against Ohio State is unlikely to happen. But it would be fun as hell, and essentially would become a play-in game for the Playoff. I’m sure the coaches and players would jump at the chance to control their own destiny and be able to play their way into the national title hunt rather than relying on someone else to lose and help them out. So while the game is unlikely, so was BYU at Coastal Carolina, so was much of this entire football season. We’ll see what happens from here.
