Texas A&M Aggies’s 2021 recruiting class got a boost to an already solid offensive line class on Friday night with the commitment of C Remington Strickland, and the class got an even bigger boost on the other side of the ball on Saturday with the commitment of national top 100 prospect Shemar Turner.

Turner is from the same high school as another former Aggie pass rusher you may be familiar with: Von Miller. Turner is now the Aggies’ highest-rated recruit in the 2021 class, ranked No. 31 in the country, the No. 5 defensive end and the No. 9 player in Texas. At 6’3.5” and 282, he has the size to come in and contend for playing time immediately, even at a position that traditionally requires a couple years of development. He chose A&M over offers from pretty much everyone (as you’d expect for a five star recruit), but the main contenders were Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Texas.
Turner is the third defensive end in this A&M class, joining four-star recruits Jahzion Harris and Marcus Burris. He is the Aggies’ 19th overall pledge, and moves their class to No. 11 overall in the country.
