Two Aggie defenders garner SEC honors following dominant performance vs. LSU

How about that front seven?

NCAA Football: Louisiana State at Texas A&M Thomas Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Texas A&M had a dominant defensive performance on Saturday against LSU, and that performance was rewarded with the SEC’s weekly player of the week honors. DL Demarvin Leal was named Defensive Lineman of the Week, while LB Buddy Johnson was named Defensive Player of the Week.

These two lead an Aggie defense that is now No. 5 in the nation in rushing defense and No. 20 in total defense. Leal and Johnson combined for 16 tackles on a night when the Aggie defense limited LSU to 36 net rushing yards and 267 yards of total offense, with 81 yards coming on the Tigers’ final drive. Oh, and Buddy also did this.
