Texas A&M’s suddenly thin depth chart at running back has been well documented, and with only a couple spots left in the 2020 recruiting class, adding one more back to the mix was a top priority. A&M filled that need on Saturday night as Kilgore Junior College running back Earnest Crownover committed to the Aggies.
First I would like to thank God for everything he’s done for me and all the talents that he has blessed me with. Also, I would like to thank my family and coaches that have supported me along the way. With that being said, after a great visit I will be committing to TAMU #GigEm pic.twitter.com/rFG3i2pj5s

Crownover was originally a member of the 2018 recruiting class, and committed to Army before going the JUCO route. He also held a scholarship offer from Oregon.
A&M has also been pursuing five-star running back Zachary Evans as well as four-star (and former Ohio State commit) Darvon Hubbard. It’s unclear if Crownover’s commitment means the Aggies have moved on from these two targets. With only one scholarhip now remaining, A&M will have some decisions to make regarding how that final spot is filled, as they also have other targets on the radar like defensive tackle McKinnley Jackson and potential Texas transfer Javonne Shepherd. It may very well be a situation where the first player to say “yes” gets the spot.
Crownover is now the third running back in A&M’s 2020 class, which is ranked 6th in the nation. He joins fellow running backs Devon Achane and Deondre Jackson.
