Great news, everyone! The Aggies will be playing close to home for the Holidays:
Oklahoma State vs. Texas A&M in Texas Bowl, sources told @Stadium
— Brett McMurphy (@Brett_McMurphy) December 8, 2019
What could be better than getting some payback against an old conference foe right in our own backyards? Well, lots of things, probably. Playoffs, NY6 bowls, etc. But when you win seven games and don’t beat anyone with a winning record, you’re not exactly in a position to strong-arm the bowl selectors.
Oklahoma State has scoreboard on the Aggies, and in fact have won the previous four consecutive meetings (2008-2011). The last game vs. the Cowboys was a heartbreaking one-point loss in 2011 when both teams were ranked in the top ten and the Aggies blew a 20-3 halftime lead.
You can choose to be annoyed and affronted, or you can actually have fun with this. It’s football. Football is fun. Revenge. Jimbo vs. the Mullet. Elko’s defense vs. a Gundy offense. Hard-nosed, wide open football. This should be a dandy of a game, and your favorite website can help you rediscover the magic of December ball. Remember, Coach Fisher’s undefeated in bowl games at A&M.
Aggies, let’s swamp Houston and start getting excited for next season. The slate is clean.
