GOOD AFTERNOON. Take a deep breath. The Aggies won, have next week off, and we all get to enjoy a beautiful autumn day without any of the angst associated with Aggie Football. Life is good.

So is Isaiah Spiller. How good? He tied Trayveon Williams’ record for rushing yards by a true freshman, averaging nearly 11 yards per carry on 20 carries. He had three runs of 40+ yards, including TD runs of 50 and 60 yards. Before last week, the Aggies only had three plays of 40+ yards for the entire season. The offense desperately needed a spark, and Spiller has provided it.

Ainias Smith had 97 all-purpose yards, Kenyon Green had an outstanding game at right guard, and Demarvin Leal had a couple of big stops behind the line of scrimmage. It’s thoroughly cliched, but the future is bright and all that. These guys are playing because they’ve earned their spots, and are getting better every week.

This is the first time in 2019 that the Aggies have hit the 500 yard mark on offense against an FBS team (we had over 600 yards against Lamar).

This was a strong outing that accomplished everything you’d like to see out of a game like this: open up the run game, avoid injuries, and get valuable playing time for the reserves. Kellen Mond made good decisions and managed the game efficiently, and was only sacked twice.
