Roster turnover is a virtual certainty in the first year or so of a new coaching staff and a major college football program. And with the number of recruits the Texas A&M Aggies are signing in the 2019 class, it was obvious the coaches were expecting a number of players to leave the program. Another one of those names became clear on Sunday, as freshman running back Charles Strong now appears on the Troy Trojans roster.

Even with the departure of early draft entrant Trayveon Williams and senior Kwame Etwi, Strong appeared stuck in a logjam at tailback, with Jashaun Corbin and Jacob Kibodi assumedly leading the charge in 2019. Add in UCF transfer Cordarrian Richardson, fellow freshmen Deneric Prince and Vernon Jackson (if he doesn’t end up at LB) as well as 2019 recruit Isaiah Spiller, and the depth chart was looking very crowded. Granted, this is depth chart doesn’t look much different than we thought it would when Strong, a three-star recruit, signed with A&M on signing day in 2018.
Strong joins the Aggie transfer pool also occupied by quarterback Nick Starkel and DBs Montel Parker (Texas Southern) and Jordan Moore (who will go to Houston).
