Jimbo Fisher and the Texas A&M Aggies will hold their first fall practice later today, but some good news came early with the commitment of four-star athlete Christian Harris, from University Lab in Baton Rouge, LA. Harries chose the Aggies over offers from Alabama, LSU, Auburn and several other top programs, and is expected to play linebacker once he arrives in College Station in 2019.

Getting a commit from LSU’s backyard, especially one of Harris’ caliber, seems like a bit get. Harris is the sixth-best player in Louisiana and the 132nd-best player in the country according to 247 Sports. And at 6’1” and 225 pounds, he certainly seems like he has the size to become an SEC linebacker.

The Aggies’ 2019 recruiting class is bursting at the seams for this early in the year, now with 24 players, including 6 in the national top 100 and 13 in the national top 300. The class is ranked third in the country, just a fraction of a point behind Georgia for the second spot.
