One of the top targets for Texas A&M Aggies head coach Jimbo Fisher made his intentions known on Monday afternoon, and four-star safety Leon O’Neal will indeed sign with the Aggies on Wednesday, re-joining their 2018 recruiting class.

O’Neal originally committed to Texas A&M in June, but opened up his recruitment following the firing of Kevin Sumlin in December, and despite what seemed like legitimate interest in Clemson, the Aggies had been the odds-on favorite to re-gain his services for a while now. His commitment could potentially be the first domino in what Aggie fans hope to be a big signing day windfall, as several major A&M targets will make their decision this week. It’s not a given that O’Neal’s commitment will influence others, but losing him to another school could have killed the Aggies’ momentum heading into Wednesday.
The hard-hitting Cy Springs safety instantly becomes the highest-rated member of the Aggies recruiting class, ranked as teh 75th-best player in the country, the 8th-best safety and the 8th-best player in Texas.
