Results of Note
The Beavers are 6-2 on the young season, which includes a 5-0 record in their five gimmees. Their three games against legitimate opposition include a neutral court win over ODU, a neutral court loss to Missouri, and a road loss at Saint Louis.
I’ve heard some calling this the toughest test of the non-conference slate for OSU, so take that for what it’s worth.
Things to Watch
The Isiah Jasey transfer could not have come at a worse time.
The Beavers have front-court depth for days, and they are capable of running out any number of combinations that include at least three players 6-8 or taller. They protect the rim, they crash the glass, and they have (per KenPom) the 11th-tallest team in Division 1 basketball.
Meanwhile, we have two scholarship big men.
So.... yeah.
Overall Thoughts
The Beavers are talented (by their standards) and relatively untested, so they should have a strong crowd in Portland tonight. Meanwhile, we’re suuuuuper rested (sup, Boston College) and we really haven’t played poorly since the return of Chuck Mitchell, so we can win this game if we keep our big men on the floor.
The late tip and nondescript network will make this one tough to find, so we’ll pass no judgement when the local Texas TV ratings are posted.
