Aggies return to AP, Coaches Poll rankings

Beating a top 10 team will do that

While your Texas A&M Aggies were ranked 22nd in the College Football Playoff Rankings entering last weekend’s game against the LSU Tigers, they were unranked in both the Associated Press Top 25 as well as the Amway Coaches Poll. That changed following the Aggies monumental seven-overtime win over the bayou bengals on Saturday night.

A&M now sits at 22nd in both polls, after being 30th in the AP Top 25 and 28th in the Coaches Poll the previous week. Meanwhile, LSU dropped only four spots in the AP (to 12th) and six in the Coaches Poll (to 14th) following the loss.

The new College Football Playoff Rankings, the only ones that truly matter in today’s college football landscape, will be announced on Tuesday night.

But despite all of these, the ranking most pleasing to Aggies following the regular season finale is probably this one.
